Hello there, I’m glad you’re here!
My approach to
therapy is:
Person-centered,
you decide the material we work on.
Existential,
we will think and talk about big, deep questions.
Narrative,
retelling the stories we tell ourselves
hold the power to frame and define our experience.
Professional Experience
I’ve had the privilege of providing spiritual care to a wide variety of people for over 14 years.
I’ve nurtured community, provided counsel, and offered support to individuals in crisis as a church minister and university chaplain, as well as in non-profit, international ministry, and corporate settings.
I’ve also provided regular and acute spiritual care to patients, families and hospital staff as a chaplain.
I know, from personal experience,
walking alongside a pastoral counselor
– someone with a combination
of religious education,
ministerial experience,
& therapeutic training –
can help us to heal wounds in the spaces where lived experiences, spirituality, and mental health overlap.
I am a FBPPCA candidate.
What does that mean?
I am working towards
becoming certified as a
NC Fee-Based Practicing
Pastoral Counselor Associate.
I meet regularly with my supervisor and consult with my peers to ensure I’m providing my clients with the best therapy I can offer.
Education
Master of Divinity from
Campbell University
4 units of ACPE Clinical
Pastoral Education
Bachelors of Science in Psychology from
Gardner-Webb University
There are many reasons you may want to work
with a pastoral counselor.
Maybe you’re discovering, reconciling, embracing,
or mourning parts of yourself
{ like sexuality, faith, gender, vocation, spirituality, disability or another part of your identity }
Maybe you’re processing an experience,
especially when it intersects with your faith system
{ like religious abuse, coming out,
navigating life transitions, coping with a diagnosis,
dying + legacy, caregiving, grief + loss,
family dynamics, and relationship issues }
A few of the things
I enjoy most in life —
good food, music,
art, stories, and company.
I find energy
while creating,
soaking up nature,
& spending time with
my wife, our dogs, chickens, and loved ones.
